Biography.
eSince is a Filipino American MC, promoter and recording engineer from the Valley, Oceanside. Five records have drawn 56,878 plays, the highest listening-per-record on this roster. He has spent a decade as one of the connectors San Diego’s music runs through, and he now runs the desk at Hub Studio.
That combination is the case for him. He can fill a room, cut a record and engineer the session, and he has been doing at least one of the three professionally since 2015.
Oceanside sits at the gate of Camp Pendleton, and its Filipino community is generations deep, families who came through the Marine Corps and stayed. He was raised in it, and the records carry it: melodic, sung as much as rapped, warmer than the West Coast street rap around him.
Well Paid $tunnaz was formed in 2015 by SlumFromThe415, C2100 and Yng Nat. eSince recorded alongside them at C2100’s first studio and released on SoundCloud, but kept a sound of his own rather than folding into theirs. He built his own collective out of it: Self Made Squad came together under his direction and produced the work that followed, “Best Coast” among it. By 2017 Well Paid $tunnaz had begun to drift on creative differences inside its core group while eSince moved his own way. Slum died in 2018. The partnership with C2100 that started there has now run a decade.
He promoted at scale across the same years: UCSD and SDSU, shows throughout San Diego County, and the Gaslamp Quarter at the height of the 2010s party era, marketing Onyx, Phantom and The Alley alongside the nights. Across North County, and in Oceanside above all, he is a known face: the promoter who could put unfamiliar DJs, rappers and organisers in one room. He has worked with C2100 for years to carry North County and San Diego music into Los Angeles and up the West Coast.
The catalogue is deliberately small and unusually well travelled. “Kept Real”, his first, went up on 23 March 2016 with C2 on it. “Best Coast” with Been G Frank$ followed in October 2017 and has drawn 27,792 plays; “Muddy” took 19,819 in February 2018. C2100 featured on and produced “Be Cool” that April, and K10 produced “Str8 To The Bag”, closing the run in July 2018. Two songs account for eighty-four per cent of everything he has been played.
He is at the Hub in 2026 on both sides of the glass, an artist on the roster and the engineer behind the desk, recording Young Getty, T Nasty and 2MuchFinessse. After seven years without a release he is writing again, with new music in progress.
With Young Getty and C2100 he is building the Hub from a storefront with a studio into a working music community, alongside 2MuchFinessse and T Nasty. His own account of the work has not changed in a decade: carrying essence.
Melodic West Coast hip-hop, sung as much as rapped, cut close and kept short.
